Job Description

An Assistant Machine Operator responsible for assisting a small team operating and maintaining a coil anodizing line, including preventative, predictive, and routine repair and maintenance tasks. This includes assisting with troubleshooting issues, repair of production and facilities equipment, and ensuring maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness.

This is a hands-on position where you will work together with other plant personnel to assist with preventative, predictive, and routine maintenance tasks. You will assist and support the primary machine line operator. 

Required Skills:
  • Minimum of three years of previous experience in a manufacturing setting that included hands-on experience with one or more of the following: industrial electronics, fabrication, welding, mechanics, and plumbing.
  • Available to work a night shift position.
  • Basic experience with tools.
  • Good reading, math, and reasoning skills as demonstrated by a written assessment.
  • Ability to read and understand schematics for machinery and electrical systems is a plus.
  • Ability to drive a forklift.
  • Effective communicator in written and verbal form.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance-related OSHA standards.
  • An acute awareness of chemical hazards and ability to understand and comply with SDS information.

 Physical Demands:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to type, finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, climb stairs, squat, bend, stoop, and kneel. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
 Work Environment:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. All facilities are tobacco and drug-free.
