Responsibilities:
· Conduct on-site installation, commissioning, planned maintenance, and repair of electrical switchgear controls and stand-by systems.
· Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of electrical systems to ensure optimal performance.
· Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues in switchgear and control systems, providing effective solutions.
· Read and interpret electrical schematics.
· Understand and work with PLC and ladder logic.
· Redline and markup drawings as needed.
· Understand networks including Modbus, Ethernet, and fiber optic systems.
· Work with SCADA and HMI systems.
· Collaborate with clients to understand their technical requirements and provide expert advice and recommendations.
· Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards during all field service activities.
· Prepare detailed service reports and documentation for each job performed.
· Provide technical support and training to clients and junior engineers as needed.
· Keep up to date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
· Travel to client sites as required, sometimes on short notice.
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
· Minimum of 3 years hands-on experience in electrical field service, particularly with switchgear controls and stand-by systems.
· Strong knowledge of electrical switchgear, control systems, and stand-by power systems.
· Proven experience in troubleshooting and repairing complex electrical systems.
· Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics.
· Understanding of PLC and ladder logic.
· Ability to redline and markup drawings.
· Knowledge of networks including Modbus, Ethernet, and fiber optic systems.
· Experience with SCADA and HMI systems.
· Familiarity with industry standards and safety regulations.
· Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Willingness to travel extensively, up to 60% of the time, including weekends and holidays.
· Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification. Not Required.
· Experience with specific brands or types of switchgear and control systems, particularly Siemens, ABB, Eaton, and Schneider.
· Additional certifications in electrical safety or related areas.
