Job Description
We are seeking a self-motivated, hands-on Project Manager II with a strong background in electrical/mechanical components and switchgear, along with a commercial mindset and understanding of the sales process. The ideal candidate takes ownership of their work, thrives with minimal supervision, and has a “get-it-done” attitude that ensures projects are completed efficiently and successfully.
Position Summary Project Manager Level II will oversee projects throughout the entire engineering service lifecycle, from planning, scheduling, and inventory control to fabrication, assembly, testing, and field execution.
This role requires someone who is highly organized, takes accountability, and proactively solves problems while maintaining a strong commercial awareness of project costs, margins, and revenue impact. The ideal candidate understands how project efficiency, client relationships, and cost management contribute to overall business success and works with a sales-focused approach to customer interactions.

Responsibilities:
Project Management & Execution
- Lead projects using PMBOK methodologies, including Project Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring & Control, and Closing.
- Take full ownership of projects, ensuring all tasks are executed efficiently with a focus on meeting deadlines and exceeding quality standards.
- Oversee the assembly, staging, testing, and installation of low- and medium-voltage switchgear and related electrical components, ensuring mission-critical power system reliability.
- Proactively identify potential roadblocks and develop solutions to keep projects on track.
- Develop and implement checklists and operational standards for materials procurement, inventory management, shop fabrication, assembly, testing, shipping, and field execution.
- Maintain a commercial mindset, ensuring project scope, execution, and changes align with company revenue goals and client agreements.
- Maintain a strong understanding of the sales process, recognizing how project execution impacts revenue, customer satisfaction, and repeat business.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing quality, ensuring profitability on each project.
- Support business development efforts by maintaining positive relationships with clients, identifying upsell opportunities, and collaborating with the sales team on project scopes.
- Work independently while effectively coordinating with teams to keep projects moving forward.
- Identify team skillsets, allocate resources, and schedule personnel for efficient project execution.
- Lead with a positive, proactive attitude that motivates team members and drives productivity.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including executives, engineers, field teams, and clients.
- Oversee inventory control by managing job-specific materials, consumables, and project staging.
- Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are properly staged for field execution.
- Maintain a well-organized inventory system to streamline project workflows.
- Implement and enforce quality control standards from engineering release through project completion.
- Take initiative in inspecting and verifying that all equipment, materials, and processes meet industry and company standards before progressing to the next stage.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Serve as the go-to problem solver, ensuring that any issues or concerns are addressed quickly and efficiently.
- Act as a commercial-minded liaison between engineering, project execution, and client expectations to ensure alignment with contractual and financial goals.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Construction Management, Engineering, Business) preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in project management within switchgear, electrical components, or industrial equipment.
- Strong technical knowledge of low- and medium-voltage switchgear (electrical & mechanical), particularly in mission-critical power applications.
- Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, troubleshooting, and testing of switchgear.
- Familiarity with the sales process, pricing strategies, and cost controls is highly desirable.
