Environmental Scientist or Engineer (Air Quality)

Job Description
As a mid-level Air Quality Environmental Scientist or Engineer, you will review state and federal regulations to determine applicability and define compliance requirements for institutional, commercial, industrial and utility sources.
Specific duties will include:
- Perform calculations to develop air emission inventories for various source types.
- Conduct technical analyses such as compiling air emission inventories and conducting computerized dispersion modeling to evaluate source impacts.
- Develop design options and/or recommendations and prepare deliverable documents.
- Prepare air quality permit documents on behalf of clients and regulatory agencies, and coordinate and complete permitting projects.
- Support negotiation of permit conditions with regulators.

What you will need:
- B.S. degree in environmental science, engineering or related discipline, master’s degree preferred.
- PE preferred.
- 3 or more years of experience with regulatory applicability analysis, air emission inventories, initial air permit applications, renewals, and revisions for variety of permitting mechanisms, including: Title V, NNSR, PSD, and minor NSR; and permit and regulatory compliance support.
- Environmental consulting experience preferred.
- Ability to work in remotely located multidisciplinary teams, within specified budgets and schedules.
- Experience with air dispersion modeling (AERMOD, others) a plus.
- Innovative problem-solving skills required.
- Strong communication (written and verbal) skills are required.
