Pay Rate: $25/hr

Overview:

The Technician I - performs the entry level work within the applicable discipline in Advanced Methane Detection (AMD). The Technician 1 work requires basic knowledge of standards and procedures, is skilled in basic problem solving and has good communication skills. A Technician is also responsible for data maintenance and cleanup and is required to work directly with a senior employee/supervisor for any unique situations or exceptions.

Tasks for this role will include:
  • Quality check drive data
  • Run reports on completed drives
  • Moving vehicles
  • Data analytics
  • GIS Data
  • GeoTab
  • Assist with maintaining/building ESRI Dashboards/Field Maps
  • Other non-essential duties as assigned or may be necessary to help maintain other corporate GIS assets.
  • Suggest Improvements to best practices and required critical processes; may help write/maintain various instruction manuals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Provides backup department support.
  • Prepares reports as directed from time to time.
  • Maintains confidentiality.
  • Under general direction, prepares special or one-time reports, summaries, or replies to inquiries, selecting relevant information from a variety of sources such as reports, documents, correspondence, other areas of the Company, etc.
  • Ensures that requests for action or information are relayed to appropriate staff members; ensures that information is furnished in a timely manner; decides whether a higher authority should be notified of important or emergency matters.
  • Follows all safety rules and procedures and contributes to the safety of co-workers and the general public.
  • Participates as an active technical support team member by contributing to program development and organization planning.
  • Willing and able to follow instructions, assist in training of co-workers, and cooperate with other employees and customers.
  • Performs responsibilities in a manner that clearly shows effective communication and cooperation and that promotes open exchange of information, respect, high ethical standards and professionalism.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • GIS Certificate or related experience (OR 48 scientific or technical credit hours as measured on a semester basis).

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS – These will set you apart:
  • Proficiency in using ESRI software
  • ArcGIS Desktop Pro
  • ArcGIS Online
  • A bachelor’s degree in GIS
  • Meet deadlines and make independent decisions
  • Be self-motivated with the ability to manage their workload effectively with little supervision
  • Actively learn new skills, systems, and procedures
  • Analytical, Dependable, Logical Thinking, Windows XP or later, Microsoft Office, GIS Concepts
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Geogrpahical Information Systems or a related field is required
