Job Title: Production Planner
Start Date: September 30TH, 2024
Location: MT Joy, PA – Grenier Industries
Pay Rate: $60,000 – $80,000
Bonus: Potential bonus EOY based on performance
Travel: some across different sites
Relocation Assistance: n/a
Education/Certifications: Hs Diploma, (Prefer Bachelors) .
Years of Experience: Must have3+ Yrs a production planning exp in an industrial mfg environment, strong communication skills, COMING FROM STEEL FABRICATION OR JOB SHOP IS HUGE PLUS. ERP system profiecney, Excel Pruriency, ability to work collaboratively across departments with good communication skills. Lets try an make sure they come from a similar industry, this facility is dirty, loud and with blue collar workers. Someone from a more clean environment like medical device might not be the best fit.
Work Schedule: regular day shift – 8 AM – 5 PM – may include some off hours based on project needs

- This person will -
- Maintain the active daily production schedule.
- Production Scheduling: Creating and maintaining production schedules based on customer orders, material availability, and production capacity.
- Resource Allocation: Allocating resources, including equipment, personnel, and materials, to support the production schedule.
- Capacity Planning: Ensuring that production capacity is sufficient to meet demand.
- Material Planning: Managing material inventory levels and ensuring timely procurement of raw materials.
- Order Tracking: Monitoring order progress and updating customers on delivery status.
- Problem-Solving: Identifying and resolving production bottlenecks or delays.
- Continuous Improvement: Implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
- Data Analysis: Analyzing production data to identify trends and opportunities for optimization.
- Prepare and submit status and performance reports, as requested
- Collaborate with department foremen. project managers, quality control and other staff to ensure accurate scheduling.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintain the active daily production schedule.
- Coordinate production workflow / schedule throughout the production cycle
- Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay based on customer requirements and production capacity
- Identify overtime needs for all departments, working with the department foremen based on customer requirements, manpower capacity, etc
- Help determine manpower needed to cover production demand, while working with the department supervisors
- Monitor jobs to ensure they do not exceed the quoted manhours
- Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption to production. The ability to listen, understand and provide constructive input for a solution is required
- Prepare and submit status and performance reports, as requested
- Collaborate with department foremen. project managers, quality control and other staff to ensure accurate scheduling.
Required Skills & Abilities
- 3 or more years of proven experience as production planner
- Excellent knowledge of production planning.
- Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems. The schedule tool is MS Excel based and will be the core tool used throughout the day. Intermediate Excel experience.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication abilities. Communication (in-person, verbal, email, etc) with the department foremen once production is started is critical, as well as with the project managers throughout the project
- Steel fabrication and job shop experience is a plus.
Education & Experience
- High school diploma; Further education or certification is preferred
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift 15lbs.
- Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine needs
