Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Program Director of the Buildings Team to lead multi-family architectural engineering projects. The Program Director will oversee all aspects of project development, ensuring timely delivery, budget compliance, quality control, and client satisfaction. This position requires a dynamic leader with a strong background in multi-family development, public markets and engineering design.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing large, complex projects and will serve as the key point of contact for clients, stakeholders, and internal teams. This role requires exceptional leadership skills, a strategic mindset, and a proven ability to drive successful program execution. The ideal candidate must split time 70% selling and 30% utilizing client relationships
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Program Oversight:
- Lead and manage the overall program strategy and execution for multi-family engineering projects.
- Direct a cross-functional team of engineers, project managers, designers, and other key personnel to ensure successful project delivery.
- Serve as the main point of contact for key clients, contractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring strong relationships and communication throughout the program lifecycle.
- Establish and communicate project goals, timelines, and performance metrics to ensure program objectives are met on time and within budget.
- Project Management & Execution:
- Oversee the development, design, and implementation of engineering plans for multi-family projects, including site assessments, structural design, utilities, MEP systems, and more.
- Review project scope, budgets, and schedules, ensuring effective resource allocation and managing risks and issues proactively.
- Collaborate with clients and internal teams to identify and resolve technical challenges, ensuring smooth project progression.
- Monitor project milestones, tracking progress against deadlines and budget constraints to ensure successful and efficient project delivery.
- Quality Control & Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, including building codes, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
- Oversee quality control processes, ensuring the highest standards of engineering and design are adhered to throughout the program.
- Team Development & Mentorship:
- Provide leadership and mentorship to project managers and other staff members, fostering a collaborative environment focused on professional growth and continuous improvement.
- Establish best practices for project management and engineering design, continuously improving internal processes and workflows.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or related discipline). A Master’s degree or PMP certification is a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing multi-family projects.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale multi-family development projects from inception to completion.
- Skills & Competencies:
- Deep knowledge of multi-family construction processes, building codes, and industry standards.
- Strong project management skills, with experience in budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
- Excellent leadership abilities, with a track record of managing and mentoring high-performing teams.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
