Job Description
Our Client is looking for a Project Manager who will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of brownfield and greenfield capital projects to ensure completion is safely on time and meets the project budget to achieve the required project performance requirements. Projects will primarily be in support for the conversion of facilities from renewable electricity production to the production of renewable natural gas (RNG). The predominate project delivery mechanism will be engineer-procure-construct (EPC) however other project delivery methods may be employed as appropriate.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure safe delivery of project planning, design, construction, commissioning and start-up for major capital projects
- Provide process engineering input for all phases of plant improvement or expansion projects or plant modifications
- Provide process troubleshooting support, make technical recommendations, answer technical inquiries, improve process engineering tools, and develop process procedures
- Review of plant equipment, systems and operating regimens to identify problems and develop improvement and upgrade plans
- Provide analysis and key input into the construction process conditions
- Build relationships with personnel and contractors at the field level
- Coordinate and manage the deliverables of design, procurement, construction and commissioning for the various projects under their control
- Report on project performance with tracking reports for adherence to schedule and budget
- Control and co-ordinate communications with the contractor representatives to ensure that the project is completed within the agreed scope per executed agreements
- Control project programming, cost control, time control, quality control, major procurement & contract administration, and indirectly oversee design, construction & commissioning activities during the implementation phase
- Monitor the interaction of various disciplines and call on specialist knowledge when required
- Ensure that both the companies’ and specific project Environmental, Health and Safety obligations relating to project activities are fulfilled
- Ensure the project complies with statutory and legislative requirements
- Adhere to EDL project management protocol and corporate governance
- Interface with customers and EDL site operations to coordinate construction and start up activities
- Use EDL risk management tools to evaluate all project risk and specific work-related risks
- Actively ensure own health and safety and the health and safety of others through understanding and implementing workplace health and safety obligations
- Support and comply with company policies and procedures as advised and documented in the company’s employment policies as amended from time to time and as directed by managers/supervisors
- In addition to the duties set out above, you may be expected to perform other duties as assigned from time to time by the company
- Engineering Degree or similar technical degree required
- Qualifications in Project or Construction Management advantageous
- Minimum 10 years of working experience
- Management of construction projects more than $20M
- Skill in the delivery of multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience in Renewables Energy, Natural Gas and gas processing industries
- Experience within the construction or operation of gas refining, renewable natural gas or power generation industry
- Ability to delegate, lead, and supervise with strong analytical skills
- Excellent verbal & written communication skills
- Knowledge of statutory requirements relating to the industry
