Job Summary
The Quality Control Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining consistent high-quality standards across all departments in all locations of operation. This role will be heavily focused on compliance, standardization, documentation, and process improvement.
This role will require frequent travel. Job duties are subject to change to meet company needs.
Core Job Responsibilities
Develop Companywide Quality Control Standards
- Determine and implement key metrics, methods, and tools for quality assessment at each stage of the process and across all departments.
- Develop & implement QC SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) across all departments and locations.
- Train leads & employees on processes
- Create and implement QC audit processes for all departments, adjusting as needed for different locations, business models, and licensing and manufacturing partners
- Regularly travel to each location of operation to conduct comprehensive audits
- Provide reports and improvement action plans to leadership and onsite management
- Involve onsite teams and managers in development of the action plan
- Create benchmarks that can be reviewed through photos / videos /data in between onsite audits (depending on severity of needed improvement)
- Be a resource to all entities as questions and concerns arise
- Implement and maintain a process improvement system within QC to identify ways to achieve or improve upon quality control standards while maintaining or improving efficiencies
- Ensure proper documentation
- Engage with employees, leadership, partners, vendors, customers, & consumers to identify areas of improvement
- Train leads and employees in process improvement tools
- Establish and implement QC feedback programs & review feedback & develop action plans as needed
- Be the primary point of contact for food & safety with federal and state regulatory bodies
- Apply for and maintain applicable certifications, ensuring compliance with all applicable food & safety regulations
- Proven experience in quality assurance and quality management
- Strong knowledge of FDA regulations, HACCP, CGMP, and other relevant quality standards
- Experience conducting quality audits and inspections
- Ability to analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement
- Familiarity with QA/QC processes and techniques
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Work Location & Schedule
This position is onsite, located in Clackamas, Oregon. Frequent travel will be required. This is an exempt, salaried position. Warehouse work schedules are Monday-Thursday 6am-4:30pm. Schedule is flexible; some remote work is possible.
Travel requirements
Up to 50% of time. Expect 2-4 weeks out of every quarter in the first year. Regular visits to each location of operation. Current locations include Clackamas, OR (headquarters); Hillsboro, OR; Cotati, CA; Reed City, MI. Current licensee operations are based in Leavenworth, WA and Las Vegas, NV.
