Job Description
Our client who provides full-service planning, design, and construction management services for federal, municipal and private projects is looking for a Transportation Designer for their Crown Point location. Your role will be to perform transportation designs and calculations including development of engineering plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E). The selected candidate will need to be self-directed, capable of independent tasks as well as supporting multidiscipline complex teams, and should demonstrate a passion for involvement in the civil transportation industry with an enthusiasm for successful completion of projects that meet our clients’ need.
Your Key Responsibilities
- Candidate will work under a licensed engineer.
- Resolve engineering problems and tasks as they are assigned, with help as needed from more experienced staff.
- Perform transportation design analyses and calculations.
- Develop plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E).
- Work as part of a team to complete general transportation engineering services for state agencies, counties, and municipalities.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by Project Manager.
Your Capabilities, Credentials, and Requirements
- Proficient in the use of MicroStation and PowerGeopak/OpenRoads Designer required.
- Proficient in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred)
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
- Ability to effectively discuss project issues with design team and the client.
- Positive attitude, good energy, and proven passion.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited institution; technical 2-year degree/diploma/certificate in a related program; or equivalent combination of experience and education.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the transportation field.
