Pay: $85-95/hr
Overview
Reporting to the Commissioning Program Manager, the Mechanical Commissioning Engineer is responsible for providing mechanical oversight to the commissioning process, aiding troubleshooting of operating issues, suggesting design improvements, identifying common points of failure, and aiding the setup of a preventative maintenance program. This engineer will champion safe and environmentally responsible work practices.
Key responsibilities:
- Works with Business Development, Construction, Engineering, EH&S, and Operations to provide open communications and goal obtainment.
- Participate in weekly update calls.
- Identifies risks and opportunities associated with Design, Construction, Commissioning, Operations, and Scheduling.
- Monitors and reports any concerns with safety or environmental regulatory compliance.
- Monitors daily and weekly reports for assigned regions. Provides a commissioning status update weekly for those regions.

Preferred education, experience, and necessary skills:
- Bachelors degree in engineering.
- 10 to 20+ years of progressive experience in mechanical design, maintenance, or reliability roles.
- Industrial experience with Oil & Gas, Chemical Facilities, or similar.
- Industrial experience with RNG strongly preferred
- Strong oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing);
- Ability to secure alignment and influence without authority.
- Strong personal computer skills;
- Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems;
- Ability to interpret codes, regulations and practices;
- Equally effective working independently or in team environment;
- Proven decision making skills;
- Ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks;
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new skills.
Preferred equipment experience:
- Boilers, compressors, blowers, chillers, screw presses, pumps, mixers, and valves.
Travel Requirements
- Able to travel (domestic) 25%-40% of the time, around commissioning activities and performance tests, peak demand in the Spring and Fall
