Job Description


The individual understands and manages cross-departmental teams to recommend and execute appropriate development and M&A activity, including planning, structuring, and negotiating distributed asset transactions. This position requires a broad understanding of the distributed energy industry landscape, a combination of individual contribution and team coordination, strong financial, technical and risk management skills, proven negotiating skills, and an ability to balance competing factors and drive complex projects in a fast-moving, dynamic market environment.

 

Employees at this level independently negotiate and execute the most complex wholesale and/or renewable business transactions across multiple jurisdictions with latitude for unreviewed work. They also provide guidance to others on transactions in any of the following business areas: capacity and/or energy transactions related to the wholesale market, Qualifying Facilities or Renewables, generation assets, electric service delivery point assets or Company Tariffs. Incumbents function in advisory roles providing assistance and recommending solutions to others, as well as leading major complex projects. They are also expected to have advanced business development skills and have the ability to work independently utilizing their expertise in wholesale/renewable market protocol. They identify market opportunities, develop creative, profitable or effective solutions in complex wholesale/renewable negotiations, and identify potential contract issues and take actions to resolve.

 

Responsibilities

Provides wholesale/renewable transaction execution and resolution of business needs.
• 25%: Ensures business goals and objectives are accomplished through effective negotiations, communication, and work monitoring.
• 20%: Prepares thorough and accurate wholesale/renewable documentation related to any business development initiative.
• 20%: Develops positive working relationships using effective oral and written communication skills while representing the company in a positive and professional manner.
• 10%: Strives to continually improve wholesale and renewable business development processes, procedures and performance.?

 

Basic/Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related degree and 12 plus years of work related experience OR

HS/GED and 17 plus years of work related experience in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
